Right off the bat, I'll tell you this is a hedge trimmer that cuts up the trimmings so small they can be used in the compost heap. It has its own debris collector, but the weight of the entire tool is not objectionable. The advantage is that the tool is lightweight and fully operational right from the box. The rotary blade is behind a safety screen yet care must be used, as with any tool, to keep fingers away. A demonstration CD is in the box, so even the dummy base is covered. For large volume cutting a lightweight portable bagging system is included. All the main objections to self-trimming have been solved so get out and get cutting!
Thompson's Water Seal - No Drip Exterior Gel Stain
The great secret about painting is the peace and quiet one can have while doing it. The wife and kids seem to dislike the smell, avoid the area and leave me alone, so painting very rapidly became my favorite hobby. I paint outdoor things: fences, chairs, even those little annoying ornaments like the south end of a lady heading north. To me, nothing is better than a cool Saturday morning, sun up and the wife bringing a cup of coffee and sympathy for my "hard" job ahead.
Last Saturday I tried the Thompson's Water Seal No Drip Gel Stain. What grabbed me was the No Drip portion of the name. While I do put a drop cloth down, I still don't like the cloth getting spotty; and the dripping down the brush handle can set me off. The no drip Gel Stain worked for me. Just like no-drip ice cream, nothing ran down the arm. I'm going over the wood benches and I wanted a deep stain color but with a one coat application. The No Drip provides color depth with a thicker coating so the first coat can cover they way you want but just don't over do it. Be reasonable in the application and it will be true to you.
Mumz Insect Repellent Garden Apparel
There's a trick here folks, don't fall for it! Mumz calls this stuff garden apparel but it looks good enough for casual outdoor wear. Most important it's manufactured by "Ex Officio" for quality and contains "Buzz Off" to repel insects. The next barbeque you attend, be happy you came prepared. The variety and colors will probably be the next summer style, but who cares. Looking good and keeping bugs away is good enough for me. Being in fashion is no big deal when they can't see beyond your shining grin. Run into the house Granny, bugs don't bother me.
The shirts are roomy enough to eat corn without drip marks and the cap with a cape keeps the sun off the neck when going down the river in a raft or walking down a city street. Check out the other "garden" cloths on the Mumz Web site. Pants, gloves, bandanas and really, really cute bucket hats.

Work gloves that fit, get the job done safely and can be used in many outdoor activities so don't hold on to the word "work". The adjustable cuff can be tightened to keep out dirt, the soft leather still allows for a good grip and feel and the colors are not bad either. And that is a toast to you- you do it all, very well I might add.

This is a classy piece of metal that adds a highlight to a special outdoor spot. I know people will typically use it as a walkway light but I think this is good looking enough for an accent light, perhaps over a specific plant or special garden plaque. It's so easy to install maybe it should be billed as do-it-yourself for pinheads. When it looks good, you look good!
