Fourth of July
Written by: TheCelebrityCafe.com Staff
All you need to liven up your Fourth of July
Now, around the office we usually don't celebrate most conventional holidays but rather stick to the usual like "Remember Kurt Day" or "Birth of Bruce." The day of "Strawberry Fields" (to remember John) is a most sacred holiday. July Fourth, this year, has taken on a big meaning because if it weren’t for our "freedoms" we wouldn’t be here.
Party City
You want some decorations to brighten up the office for the Fourth of July? Don't know where to find them…try the Internet. Don't forget to get them in the red, white and blue motif; it'll put the party benchmark high. Set the race off with a Statue of Liberty or American flag scene-setter. It's a wall decoration of the flag and some famous landmarks, many of the ones that Homeland Security forgot. It's from Canada, which is all right since they are Americans too. Dangling cutouts can hang from the ceiling and add a little "duck your head" to any party. For a sparkle that's a real attention getter, try the hand-held spinning light up flag-in-a-ball. My god, the thrill of it all! Can there be anything better than the "Uncle Sam" style oversized top hat with a fireworks display that lights up? Perhaps the American flag party lights will set a romantic mood, and then anything can and will happen.
Bazooka
New & Improved Bubble Gum
For any family gathering what people want most is something for free. If you buy the 300-piece Bazooka Bucket it will fill the bill with something left over for you. When the party starts to slow down, just get out old time quiz games and give the gum as a prize. This new style gum is more user-friendly than in the past. Larger bubbles, longer lasting taste and a softer chew: three items that were high on the research list. The comics have been updated, although it does take stronger eyes to read them. The comic is part of the wrapper and is printed very lightly so it will take longer to read but the taste will stay with you for the time necessary. Even Bazooka Joe is looking good, with the eye patch as a new fashion statement. Tattoos are out, the patch is in!
Crock Pot - Fiesta Dipper
This is hot! Hot! Hot! Hot! A holder for chips and dip that keeps the dip hot! The entire unit also disassembles for clean up in the dishwasher. There is even a removable 16-ounce little dip pot that can be heated in the microwave before putting it in the chip holder. Then, an electric warmer keeps the dip warm. The whole set up looks like a sombrero, which is just right for a party atmosphere. Just looking at it makes me smile and my mouth drool. Fresh hot nacho cheese…mucho bueno.
Rival - Electric Ice Maker
My favorite part of the directions is "makes 1 ˝ quarts of ice cream." The preparation is easy but does require some time. Like 24 hours of the freezer parts; maybe 25 minutes of gathering and mixing the ingredients; then 30 minutes of refrigeration of those ingredients and finally putting it into the actual ice cream maker for 20 to 40 minutes. Get the kids involved in the production and then let them share in the rewards. Clean up is a quick soapy water wipe down, rise, dry and put away. No dishwasher is needed. And the freezer units are stored in the freezer for next time.
Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker
Shopping.com has what it takes to up the Fourth of July a notch! This is a cooking cult machine! Cool! I didn't know that when I got the WSMC. It came in a huge 4-foot box that looked intimidating. I found out that all I needed was a wrench and a screwdriver to put this baby together. I checked on the Internet under "Weber Bullet" (that's what fans call it) for general recipes and found a whole bunch of sites that tell me I am special and the Bullet is special. All I needed to do was to allow enough enjoyment time for the three sections to be assembled with the easy directions, then look over the recipes and dive right in.
