Kabana Skin Care Products
Kabana produces skin care products with ingredients that you can pronounce. The fact is that after reading the Kabana Crème, go to dinner because you appetite will be increased. The variety of butters, lecithin and oils are more than my mother used in cooking spaghetti sauce. While everyone claims they are safe, Kabana does it in plain English. The Kabana Crème is a skin nourishing moisturizer that is so mellow that at 95 degrees it will melt right into the skin. Sunsei Daily Moisturizing UV Protective Soap, yes soap! Clean your body and put on a little of the zinc oxide protection from the sun. Next time you go nude in the sun this will be a base "coat," for actual sunscreen protection, the Green Screen SPF15 is suggested. Read and learn. They claim that any SPF over 15, say 45 for example, applies about 300 percent the chemicals I can't pronounce but only 4.5% more UV protection. Liplover all natural Lip balm is used so close to the mouth that eventually some of it is going to go in. What do I tell the EMTs? Chemical names that twist the tongue or simple words like shea butter, lanolin, bees wax, honey powder, natural vitamin E, Natural Flavoring, and, by the way, can you get me a hot dog?
Vermont Soapworks
I didn't know. I had no idea. I just didn't think. All those chemicals in my soap could be hurting me: allergies, irritants, and sickness. I was perhaps killing myself with sweet smelling chemicals when all I wanted was to wash my hands and take a shower. When I was growing up there really wasn't a choice. Now there is. Eliminate the chemicals by doing the homework. Vermont Soapworks uses only natural ingredients and organic ones at that. Foamer Lemongrass is for hand washing but according to the ads it will clean just about everything, even a toothbrush, and it won't kill you. Maybe this is what Mom should have used when she washed my mouth out. Now the Organic Lavender Gel has some ingredients that stirred my appetite just while I was reading it: olive oil, vegetable gum and coconut. Do I eat it or use it?
Kathy's Family Products
All I know about Kathy is that her family is really dirty and needed organic products to clean and nurture their skin without causing any problems. So after Kathy learned to read, she found that many of the lotion labels were difficult to read. But she kept looking for the easy ones and one day she began to find products that had labels she could understand without her dictionary. In time she started her own company using simple clean ingredients that her family liked to use. So she named her lotions and products after her family so, if wasn't good, they would yell at her for using their names. That's why we have Uncle Bud's Shea Butter Lotion, Uncle Bill's Foot Balm, Aunt June's Shea Butter Balm and Aunt Mabel's Foot Bath. Kathy and her brother Dale even have a body wash "for really dirty kids". The whole family's there. Now if they would only make breakfast sausage.

Everything you need to look visibly younger in 14 days! Sounds like a great ad -- but does it work. It did on me. The cute metallic bag includes Frownies Facial Patches for Forehead and Between Eyes, Facial Patches for Corners of Eyes and Mouth, pH Balancing Complexion Wash, Rose Water Hydrator Spray and Immune Perfect. The products are of course paraben free and very easy to use. This company has been around since 1889 and has been part of many celebrities' secret skincare regimen, but now the word is out! Before you contemplate that face lift or other cosmetic procedure you have to try this product.
TheraNeem Facial Bar
This facial bar is certified organic as well as paraben free. It smells really great and is formulated for sensitive skin. It contains neem and calendula which are key ingredients for sensitive skin. Since I fit that bill, I decided to give it a try. I liked that it gave a rich lather and my face felt clean without being dry. After using it for a week, there was less redness and my skin looked smoother. The bar also seems to last for a while.
Skin MD Shielding Lotion
You might be asking the same question I did -- What is a shielding lotion? It turns out that a shielding lotion bonds with your outer skin layer and "shields" it from environmental toxins as well as keeps natural moisture in. Typical lotions add moisture to the surface and don't lock in your own. Some staff members gave it a try and they are now fighting for the rest of the bottle. It leaves your skin soft but not greasy and it does not have an irritating smell.
Whole Foods 365 Everyday Value Products
Whole Foods has an extensive 365 line which I guess would be comparable to a no frills line, but these products definitely act like they have some frills. Their shampoos, shower gels and body lotions contain no artificial color, parabens or fragrances. The Citrus Grapefruit Shower Gel has a great lather and smells good enough to eat -- probably because it has real grapefruit in it. The shampoo and conditioner in Herbal Mint are invigorating. If these don't wake you in the morning I don't know what will.

Modele Legs Relax is a great product to use on tired legs. Key ingredients include Provitamin B5 and Bioflavonoids to help tone and provide moisture. I have never questioned the source of lip balm but Plums? Plums have no lips. I have eaten them dried and in a stew but as a lip balm? Although the Vanilla is soothing and tastes good, I wonder "Will girls kiss a plum lipped man?" Perhaps it shows character to be original. After all it does have beeswax and vitamin E. In fact, since it is a paraben and petroleum free product, maybe I should get extra credit. Yeah baby, I am getting real, fashionable and sitting on the cutting edge. Ouch!

Gum disease is no joke and some of us are more prone to it than others. While regular checkups are always recommended, an oral rinse can help. The Natural Dentist has come out with two new and natural flavors: Peppermint Twist and Orange Zest. While good tasting and powerful, I noticed on the label that it says not to swallow and then gives directions for children under 12. My kids will swallow! So I can not even suggest that they try this. For adults it encourages good oral habits; for kids, let them brush longer.

Pond's has revealed some new products that are paraben free. Pond's Radiance Restored is a moisturizer with an SPF 15 that brightens the skin and evens out tone and texture. It also minimizes the appearance of age spots and blotches. Pond's Smooth Perfection is a complexion perfecting moisturizer. What does that translate into? It promises to diminish the appearance of pores and fine lines and is a great base for makeup. The Pond's Purely Polished micro-dermabrasion anti-aging kit brings the salon or spa into your home. It is gentler than a professional treatment but easier to use at home, and we saw great results.
Afterglow Cosmetics
Here is another mineral cosmetics line which we loved for several reasons. Of course it is all natural and paraben free. It also has a wide variety of colors. What makes Afterglow stand out is that they are signers for the Breast Cancer Fund's "Campaign for Safe Cosmetics" and the "Compact for Safe Cosmetics." They are very involved in making cosmetics safe for women and they donate some proceeds to breast cancer causes and research. Why not buy from a company who is doing something positive for the world?
