We think the purpose of these items is self-explanatory. You always need some cheer at the ol' holiday parties.
Pomegranate Flavored Vodka
The name gives the goal but doesn't tell of the Master Distiller's efforts to make this flavor the top of the line in mixers. Actual pomegranate is soaked in vodka and mixed with other vodkas to produce a mellow taste, enhancing each martini you concoct. In some areas, pomegranates are used for their antioxidant properties; here it's their flavor that carries well into the night.
Gallo Twin Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Sonoma Reserve Chardonnay
Wine is not wine and so many factors go into a judgment call that we don't truly judge the wine as much as enjoy the wine. "Gallo" is "Gallo," the standard to which all American wines aspire. We especially liked the Gallo Twin Valley Cabernet Sauvignon and Sonoma Reserve Chardonnay. I can imagine a wine grape just budding up, hoping to be a Gallo wine, exercising, sun bathing, drinking water and coming from good stock. Still the road is covered by failed grapes: Ernest and Julio set standards. Success is not assured, even to the home grown.
Red Bicyclette French Wines
An attractive website, only needing more pictures of the townspeople, (doesn't the Mayor deserve a shot?) and the village church. Sounds of the café feel real enough to make me feel like I was eavesdropping. Red Bicyclette produces a Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah. In my mind I could taste the delicious wine but my body was longing for France.
SPYKES
Ladies and gentlemen, Anheuser-Busch introduces SPYKES, a new way to "punch up the beer." If you're into lifestyle variety that won't hurt or cause scars, then beer is the last frontier to be boosted. SPYKES is a variety of special "tastes" that give beer a little enhancement, a flavor overdrive, taking the ordinary into extraordinary. Use wisely young one, for wisdom comes with experience. Shiner Beers
A unique anniversary beer from the oldest independent brewery in Texas, Bohemian Black Lager: deep dark "rich in color, but smooth and refreshing in taste." It's the original recipe, so taste what 1909 must have been like. Close your eyes and let the cold brew stream down the throat and, after a brew or two, check out the website for a sales location and join in the celebration.
Ecco Domani
Ecco Domani winery presents three new wines used as a base in three new styles of "wine mixers." Yes, wine mixers! The full taste of the wine is somewhat reduced when other elements are added, but here Ecco Domani has managed to draw from the grape a strength that pushes through and is elevated into a subtly different taste. The 2004 Merlot has a red color and the smell of blackberry. It is particularly served with dishes using tomato sauces. The mixed wine drink Dolce Domani is suggested as an aperitif. The 2005 Pinot Grigio is from the same general region in Italy, has a clear but light color, and the fruits come through masterfully. Ecco Freddo is the wine mixer suggested to début this wine evening. The third wine is the 2004 Chianti: everybody's first taste of wine. Old reliable is added to the Ecco Sidro where it is mixed with ginger, apple cider and tea. New drinks created through old casks. Checkout the website for the full recipes.
BevWizard - Wine enhancer
The ads imply you can make cheap wines taste a little better, and better wines taste great but the actual reason to use the BevWizard is just as the name says, enhance the wine. Whatever wine that may be. So don't be artificially cheap, buy a wine you would like to try based on location, taste or style and make it taste a bit better. In fact let this product be a guide to wines that perhaps you might have not tasted. So, for adventure in the wine shop, wear a pith helmet when you purchase a bottle, it will show off your couth.
