There’s another great gizmo that’s going to become a must-have for iPod owners.

Myvu has everything you need to enjoy a complete movie experience from your iPod. Myvu goes wherever you go and can be used anytime the urge to re-watch your favorite flick strikes. The viewer is a binocular LCD display and basically looks like an ultra-techno pair of sunglasses. The movie is projected as a “floating image,” so you can multi-task as you movie-watch. In other words, you’re not deaf, dumb, and blind to whatever’s going on around you, a major plus if you’re, say, enjoying a leisurely stroll through the downtown rush hour while you enjoy your movie -— not that we recommend trying it. The myvu also comes with attached in-ear headphones that feature interchangeable rubber sleeves in small, medium and large for a custom fit for every ear. These handy little buds have noise-reducing capabilities to filter out all that unwanted ambient sound. And while you’re watching the movie, just use the little pendant control to tweak sound levels, picture quality, etc.
And if your movie of choice happens to be some epic-length feature of Titanic proportions, no worries. The myvu offers six hours of playback. It also comes with a rechargeable battery, an AC adapter, and a 12-volt adapter (for those long car trips). Plus, the whole package comes with a microfiber protective sleeve and lens cloth to keep it looking state-of-the-art. This must-have gadget for serious iPod users is available for $199.95 on Apple’s website. It only works with iPods right now, but word is that the makers are working on a version that’s compatible with other portable media players. So be patient! Or, if you can’t wait, you could always run out and buy yourself an iPod.
