First Love - Peanut

With the Backsteet Boys and N'Sync, you'd think there would be enough "Boy

DM) What do you feel makes First Love different from all of the other boy bands out there?

P) We have always done as much on our own as possible. In reference to choreography, a cappella arrangements, clothing, etc., we can say that there is a First Love flavor in everything we do. We're from Europe, which definitely sets us apart from others; and with First Love, what you see is what you get, so we can relate and identify ourselves with everything that is First Love-oriented.

DM) How did the group come together?

P) We were winners of a nationwide talent search in Germany. We were all so happy to get this chance to work together, since Delane, Tobi and I all knew each other already from the music scene in Bremen, and we had heard of Phil as an actor and musician.

DM) Do you sing any of the songs in your native tongue of German?

P) No, we don't sing in our native tongue, because with English, we can reach more listeners worldwide.

DM) Who cme up with the idea to tour local New York high schools?

P) We're working on a "Stay In School" campaign throughout the U.S. We visit schools, perform there and tell the kids how important education is, so it was a natural thing to go play schools in New York.

DM) Why is that album titled "I Just Can't Get Enough"?

P) It was the title of our first single release in Germany, and we hope that the people won't get enough of First Love!

DM) Why does everybody go only by their first name?

P) Well, our music is more important than our names, and we had some bad experiences in Germany, when after having our names printed in the magazines, fans were constantly visiting our homes and families.

DM) How do American audiences differ from German audiences?

P) The German audience takes longer to get into the party mood, whereas the Americans seem to always be in a party mood!

DM) Where did you learn to speak English?

P) I lived for several years in Cleveland, Ohio, because that's where my dad is from. I lived there from age 4-7.

DM) I understand that you worked as a volunteer counselor for handicapped children. Do you still volunteer?

P) As a matter of fact, I worked in the kindergarten right before we came to the States for our tour. I worked there throughout the year of 1999 and loved working with the children.

DM) Do you prefer recording or performing live?

P) I definitely prefer the stage, because that is where the action is. That is where we can see how our music and our performance affect the audience. That is where we can interact with our fans.

DM) Are you working on your next album already?

P) As of right now, we are concentrating on promoting our album "I Just Can't Get Enough" and our single "Freaky." But, as always, when we have song ideas, we write them down so that they're ready for us when we hit the studio.
