Seinfeld Seasons 1 & 2
Seindfeld still one of the funniest shows on television.
Most television shows don’t hit the ground running and Seinfeld is no different. In these early episodes the actors are still trying to get into their characters; the writers are still trying to construct the perfect script; and the show is still trying to attract word-of-mouth attention. But, unlike most shows, the signs of greatness can be found here and there throughout the three disc set. From episode to episode there are some very funny moments, such as the birth of George’s alter-ego Art Vandelay in “The Stake Out,” or the dine-in disaster that takes place in “The Chinese Restaurant.” While these episodes are considered classics, most don’t compare with the hilarity that would come in some of the later seasons.
Not to be outdone by other television box sets, ‘Seinfeld: Seasons 1 and 2’ comes packed with enough extra features to keep any Seinfan at bay. Inside looks into the making of the show-- deleted scenes, audio commentaries, bloopers and more fill the thirteen hours of extras that accompany the featured twelve episodes.
They say it’s a show about nothing, but from the looks of this DVD, the people behind Seinfeld were really onto something.
