Robots
Animation is a hot genre these days, thanks to the phenomenal success of Pixar's multi-million dollar blockbusters "Toy Story," "Monsters, Inc," and "Finding Nemo," and DreamWorks' "Shrek." These studio giants have opened the door for other, smaller companies like Blue Sky Studios to release innovative and high-quality movies, such as their first film, "Ice Age" in 2002, and their new, more ambitious endeavor, "Robots."
The story of "Robots" centers on Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor), a kid inventor from a poor family (he keeps getting hand-me-down parts from his cousin) who sets off for Robot City in the hopes of pitching his newest invention to his idol, master inventor Bigweld (Mel Brooks). He plans to both change the world and make his father proud. But, when he gets there, he finds that Bigweld is missing and that Bigweld's company has been taken over by a cruel corporate tycoon named Ratchet (Greg Kinnear).
Despondent, Rodney takes up with a gang of haggard
