Braincandy: My 5 Senses is the first in a series of six DVDs designed to teach kids about each of the five senses. Winning two Dr. Toy awards, among many varied awards from the Dove Foundation and Film Advisory Board, this DVD looks like a graduate film student’s final project. Bouncing from scene to scene with puppets of the brain, eyes, ears, nose, etc, this 40 minute film may seem out there to parents, but will most likely entertain children up to four years old. Causing children to think about the senses they unknowingly use everyday, the DVD encourages kids to get up out of their seat and go “experience” their senses. With diversified musical genres as well as; animations, live kids, and puppets, Braincandy is a cute DVD to pop in and entertain kids while cooking lunch or talking on the phone. Don’t feel guilty about sticking the kids in front of the television, because this will get kids motivated to explore their world and use all their senses.
