High Tension
Intense On the Edge of your Seat Thriller
Oh, my! First of all, I did not know this was a French movie – there weren’t any subtitles, and everyone spoke English. I watch a lot of foreign films; foreign horror is somewhat slower than the U.S. version, because they explore the story before the killing starts.
I was impressed with High Tension. It was gory with fabulous sound effects of stabbings, blood splattering and bones crushing. As you're watching the film, you get fanatic about the heroine of the movie and wonder what is wrong with the killer – why is he killing folks. But the ending is the real killer. It is unexpected, especially, the reason why everyone is dying. The cast consists of folks we really don't know in the U.S. The director and makeup artists have a definite future in Hollywood if they wanted one. Overall, it was GREAT!
On this DVD, I actually watched the movie first before going through the extras. What I really wanted to see in the commentary and the introduction was an explanation about the plot and how the writer came up with it.
This movie should not be viewed by anyone under 17.
