Bewitched
Bewitchly Funny and Cute
I remember Bewitched as being a love story between a dork and an attractive witch wanting to be normal, with mishaps and high jinks to add comedy. Well, the 2004 version is no different. It is more of a love story than anything else. Will Ferrell is great as the dork, and Nicole Kidman exceeded my expectations, although her low-pitch talking to seem innocent and naive was a little annoying at times. I am a fan of Nicole Kidman, although she does seem rather stiff. Michael Caine was cast as her father, which seemed to fit perfectly, and the ensemble cast consisted of comedic actors, such as David Alan Grier and P.J. Byrne. The casting director did a fine job with the cast. The only thing I wished was that they'd explored Shirley MacLaine's character a little further. Throughout the movie, I became more enthralled with her character than either Will's and Nicole's. Overall, it was fun to watch this movie.
I love DVD extras; I tend to explore them before I watch the movie. There is a Bewitch trivia game that consists of questions about the original version of the movie; it was fun to see how much I'd remembered.
