Audition
Asian horror remakes or copies are the Cinematic rage. Movies like the Ring and Ring 2, and The Grudge are renditions or remakes of Asian films Ringu and The Eye. I say in order for this movie to be of great Asian Cinema it definitely needs to be remade. It wasn’t as suspenseful as it could have been. The story was rather choppy and the flashbacks were drug induced so there is no way of knowing if they were really telling the truth in the story or made up.
The first hour or so was really long and drawn out. But like most Asian films it laid down the plot. Now in the beginning you know what’s going on, but towards the end you begin to ask, WHY? This movie starred Ryo Ishibashi and Eihi Shiina. They did a great job, but the movie itself served no justice to their acting careers. I hope Hollywood does remake it, because then it would be a good thriller. Overall the movie was ok too watch just a little boring. The special effects for the blood and mutilation scenes were good, but that’s really it.
