Dark Water
Once gain this is an Asian film with an American twist. I have got to see the original version. The one thing I like about watching originals is that they are somewhat different and you can see where the Western influence comes into the film. This has got to be the saddest horror/thriller I have ever seen. I cried at the end when I was supposed to be scared. I can say that I really didn’t expect the ending. I watched every DVD extra they had on this disc so see what was the reasoning behind the plot and the ending and hope for an alternate ending. The whole concept with the water being the antagonist of the film was good. And not to spoil it, but of course it was about a ghost and little kids. It had an all star cast with Jennifer Connelly, John C. Reilly, and Camryn Manheim. And that little Ariel Gade was fabulous. She is a true star in the making. I like movies who don’t exploit their stars and give them roles that you can’t quite remember them playing in but know they were in the movie. Overall this movie was a must wait for video and be sure to have hankies for the ending.
