BloodRayne

Bloody but not Perfect

I thought this movie would be better than it really was. Unlike it's predecessors of games made into movies this one lacked direction, the great special effects and overall Vampire thrill. You could follow the story very well but you may have to wonder throughout the film how certain things came about, such as how she escapes her father, the evil vampire and so forth. This movie had a great star line up which included Ben Kingsley, Billy Zane, who's character should have been explored much further and Michelle Rodriguez whom was his kick butt co- leader of the human revolution daughter. Michael Madsen was the leader of the human revolution against the vampires, but the way he spoke his lines made me cringe. Even Michelle tried some kind of European dialect, which didn't fly to well. I am a buff of the Vampire genre and this movie didn't impress me with historical or interesting facts that could make me think that maybe Vampires could be real, like some other movies, for example Dracula with Keanu Reeves. I was thinking that maybe it would have Matrix action sequences but none of those and the fight scenes were so choreographed I got sleepy watching them fight. Overall this movie is best saved for video, which I am surprised it didn't go to in the first place.
