Firewall

Knowing Harrison Ford is in the movie pretty much gives the plot away.

If you’ve seen one Harrison Ford movie, you’ve seen them all. That’s what it feels like after watching his latest crime thriller.

Ford, yet again, plays a man trying to protect his family from another, yet another, villain. Jack Stanfield is the security chief at a global bank, who also conveniently helped design the computer system and firewall to be protected from fraud (yes, it’s named after that). Paul Bettany plays the villain, who first enters the movie wanting to work with Jack, and then in the next scene is holding a gun (to Jack’s head) in one hand and a phone with a picture of Jack’s screaming daughter in the other. Jack is forced to hack into the computer security to transfer $100 million to the thieves’ accounts or watch his family be killed.

At one point, Ford is beaten to near shreds and you half-expect him to keel over in pain, but he IS Harrison Ford so, of course, he takes it and ends up victorious. Aside from a small, yet fun, cameo from 24’s Mary Lynn Rajskub, the movie is very lackluster and leaves one unsatisfied.
