Grizzly Man
Timothy Treadwell is the focus of this documentary. Treadwell is an animal lover, who spent a lot of his time studying and living with grizzly bears in Alaska. He saw these enormous and dangerous creatures as his friends.
These bears that he loved so much were the very same bears that ended his and his girlfriend’s life. Although we never see or hear the footage of the two being killed by the bear, we watch the director of the film listen to the audio and tell Treadwell’s close friend never to listen to the tape. Although there are interviews from Treadwell’s friends, parents and others who knew him, the best part of the movie is watching and listening to Treadwell himself. He talks to the bears as if he were talking to humans.
Although it’s not listed as a comedy, Treadwell brings his sense of humor and heart to this highly entertaining film. The DVD extras include a 50-minute documentary on the making of the music from the film.
