UltraViolet

Lacks something to bite your teeth into.

When I first saw the preview for this highly charged action packed sci-fi intense special effects feature, I was excited to think a new Vampire picture was being made. I still went into the theater thinking I was going to watch a Vampire picture. Well needless to say the first 30 minutes I was confused. Not only was I not sure it was a Vampire movie but I could hardly figure out what Milla Jovovich was saying.

She was Violet the kick butt heroin of the film and she was supposed to enlighten us as to what the plot was, which I am still trying to figure out. I think there was a lot to this whole story and that the movie makers were at their wits end on how to edit it. But I know it left me dazed and confused.

It seems the Vampirism was a result of a biological warfare agent that seemingly infected the blood of some humans and gave them superhuman strength and fangs. But that is it; no one got bit or anything. There was excellent swords fighting and gun shooting. But the only vampiric thing was when Milla's character was offered a blood transfusion by Garth played by William Fitchner. I mean the special effects are great, although they left you thinking this is all to this movie, really. Overall I was highly disappointed and don't even recommend waiting for DVD, just forget about the movie and hope the Japanese remake it.
