Enduring Love

A disturbing movie that wonderfully intertwines two different genres.

When I was writing a review for this movie, I found myself having some major trouble in classifying this movie as it comes to its genre. At first glace I was leaning toward ‘drama’ but having given it a second thought I came to the conclusion that ‘thriller’ might be more in place. This smart mix of two genres is just what sets this movie apart from any other and actually redefines the thriller genre while doing at the same time no less justice to the dramatic storyline.

Joe and Claire are witnessing the beginning of a possible ballooning accident and Joe decides to lend a hand together with some bystanders in order to prevent anything terrible from happening. Only one of them keeps holding on to the balloon that is taking off which leads to a dramatic death. Joe can’t stop from wondering why this accident has taken place and what he could have done more, until Jed, one of the helping men, tries to contact him. Jed’s apparent obsession for the accident quickly turns into an all-consuming love for Joe.
