Rocky II
The Italian Stallion is back.
"Rocky II" (and all the Rocky sequels for that matter) begins with a recap of the previous installment of the series. The film then shows the reaction of the world to Rocky’s amazing fight with Apollo Creed, and moves on to a new challenge from Creed. Rocky is faced with the same problems that he was faced with in the last film. The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Unlike the first Rocky film, Sylvester Stallone directed "Rocky II" himself, in addition to writing and starring in it. "Rocky II" didn’t win any Academy Awards like its predecessor (which garnered three, including Best Picture). Still, "Rocky II" elicits the same warm feeling that a viewer gets from a good underdog story that the first film provides. For any fan of the first Rocky film, "Rocky II" is a must-watch.
