Rocky III
New opponent, same heart.
"Rocky III" is the first Rocky film that is about more than one of Rocky’s matches. Rocky fights Clubber Lang (Mr. T) twice, and also has a charity fight with a popular 80’s celebrity. As a result of the increase in action scenes, the powerful emotion associated with the first two Rocky films is somewhat lost.
Still, important characters from the first two films like Mickey and Apollo Creed return in the third film and have developments in their character that brings some of that emotion back. Between their inclusions, the comical voice and attitude of Clubber Lang, and the introduction of the song, “Eye of the Tiger,” "Rocky III" proves to be a worthy addition to the Rocky series.
