Miss Potter

The extraordinary adventures of the heart and the imagination.

"Miss Potter" is a delightful and charming film. Starring Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor, the film is a sweet portrait of the mainly quiet life of one of the most beloved children's literature writers, Miss Beatrix Potter. Ewan McGregor is terribly charming as her publisher, Norman Warne. The movie begins with Beatrix as a woman in her early thirties working to have her "bunny book," as the head publishers refer to it in the film, published. The Tale of Peter Rabbit is soon printed, and gains immense popularity. At the same time, the very sheltered but comfortable Beatrix falls in love with her publisher, and the film charts their loving, youthful and heartfelt romance as a parallel to the completely new life Miss Potter is starting to lead. The film is imaginative, endearing, and is just as charming the second time around.
