Hook
An incredibly enjoyable film for all crowds, "Hook" is a masterpiece. Steven Spielberg's 1991 film stars Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman, Julia Robert, Bob Hoskins and Maggie Smith, among many others. The movie is full of beautiful and enchanting music, and the diverse scenery is breathtaking. The premise of the film is that Peter Pan fell in love and decided to leave Neverland and grow up. Over time, Peter (Robin Williams) completely forgets his long and lustrous history and is shocked when, upon flying to England with his wife and children to visit "Granny" Wendy (Maggie Smith), his children are kidnapped by a Captain Hook. Wendy tells him of their shared past and their wonderful adventures, but Peter is only convinced upon being taken to Neverland himself by his old pal Tinker bell (Julia Roberts).
The movie is a fun-filled journey full of familiar faces and lessons on remembering the good times shared with good friends. The imagination/food fight scene is especially memorable. The scene where Peter finally remembers who he is stands out as a very touching and memorable moment in this great journey. "Hook" is a wonderful movie that balances imagination, wit, comedy, vivid and beautiful settings, and the importance of friendship. It pays respectful homage to the great classic works by James Barrie, "Peter Pan" and its sequel, "Hook." Watch out for notable cameos by Glenn Close, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jimmy Buffett, Steven Spielberg, Phil Collins, George Lucas and Carie Fisher.
