Grandma's Boy
With a name like Grandma's Boy, who would think this movie was one of the funniest movies in recent history? This is yet another winner to come out of the Sandler, Happy Madison camp.
So what is this movie about? Alex, an accountant turned video game tester, gets evicted from his apartment due to his roommate's affinity for Filipino hookers. After some other arrangements fall through, he is invited to live with his grandmother and her roommates, Doris Roberts and Shirley Jones--yes, Mrs. Partridge. Alex's coworkers are a tag team of hilarity in every aspect. From Dance Dance Revolution battle, to car beds and robot ears, this movie will have you on the floor. You may recognize the actors as the traditional Sandler bunch who have been in multiple movies together under Happy Madison productions. Rob Schneider as the landlord, Peter Dante as Dante "the dealer," and you may remember Alex from The Wedding Singer and Big Daddy. Linda Cardelliniof Freaks and Geeks fame fit right in as Samantha, the hottie who is sent to the company to assist in game production. Newcomer Joel Moore is freakishly creepy as JP, the genius video game designer. It also has a pre-Superbad Jonah Hill.
There is no technical jibber jabber here. The movie is insanely hilarious; it's as simple as that. It is perfect for a night of hanging out with friends, because this is a movie you want to watch with a bunch of people, to laugh at how people can't breathe because they are laughing so hard. Definitely a fun time.
