If 300 in itself wasn't already enough, the generous makers of the action-o-rama now present the two-disc special edition. 300 is an epic retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae. Starring Gerarld Butler as Leonidas, King of the Spartans and Lena Headey as his wife Queen Gorgo, the tale is a non-stop, action-packed ride. With skillful turns by David Wenham and Rodrigo Santoro as Persian King Xerxes, the film is entertaining to watch. The special effects are massive, and the well-chiseled Spartan men are quite impressive; though their perfection may be due in part to CG, it doesn't matter. This special edition DVD is packed in two discs. The first of the discs contains a widescreen version of 300, while the second contains a myriad of special features, including commentary, insight into Frank Miller's 300, additional scenes, behind the scenes looks, and more. And at an amazing $6.99 in some stores for a limited time, it is well worth the money.
