Never Been Kissed
The class clown just turned chic.
Never Been Kissed, released in 1999, stars Drew Barrymore as Josie Geller, David Arquette as Robert Geller, and Molly Shannon as Anita Olesky. Directed by Raja Gosnell, the film centers around a journalist who enrolls as a high school student at her old school, as research for the story her boss assigned to her.
Josie Geller is a 25-year old Chicago Sun-Time copy editor. During a meeting with the owner of the paper, Josie is ordered to report undercover about what high school kids are interested in today. Josie enrolls right away, only to fall back into the role of a dork like she was when she originally went to high school. With her job on the line, Josie is forced to give up interesting friends for pretty, popular kids who have more news-worthy lifestyles. Then Josie becomes attracted to one of her teachers as her boss decides student-teacher attraction should be the topic of her story. Josie is conflicted between doing her job and following her heart.
