Bad Boys
“Bad Boys,” released in 1995, stars Will Smith as Detective Mike Lowry and Martin Lawrence as Detective Marcus Burnett. Written by George Gallo and Michael Barrie and directed by Michael Bay, this action comedy film centers around two young detectives who attempt to protect a murder witness while an investigation involving stolen heroin is also taking place.
Marcus Burnett, a wholesome family man, is partners with Mike Lowry, a carefree bachelor, on the Miami Police Department. The two men become involved in a highly dangerous case when $100 million worth of heroin is stolen from police headquarters. They now have 72 hours to reclaim the drugs before Internal Affairs shuts them down.
The plot becomes a bit more complex when Lowry’s friend is murdered by a French drug lord. Lowry and Burnett are forced to pretend to be one another in order to convince the sole witness of the murder to cooperate with the drug bust.
