Mr. Brooks
The Thumbprint Killer is back, and being blackmailed to kill again.
Mr. Brooks (Kevin Costner) has just gotten the “Man of the Year” award, although he is unknowingly the serial killer known as the “thumbprint killer,” egged on by his alter-ego Marshall (William Hurt). His latest murder has been seen and photographed by Mr. Smith (Dane Cook), and now he is being blackmailed into showing Smith the ropes. While this is going on, it seems Brooks's daughter has dropped out of college following a murder at her campus, and Brooks is also being pursued by Detective Atwood (Demi Moore), who is very close to solving the thumbprint killings and also going through a very messy divorce.
This story is way too convoluted to prove to be worth watching, and the lack of emotion by anyone in the cast makes this a very dull story. The pace is very slow, and the major cast seems to be just going through the motions, considering this is a movie about a serial killer involved in very extenuating circumstances.
There is too much going on in this movie to have such a slow pace; I would recommend staying away from this unless you are big fans of the major players.
