Penelope
Penelope is a fairy tale with a modern day twist.
Penelope seems to be the typical fairy tale with a heroine, a curse, a villain, a rescuer . . . well, I’m not sure about that one. Penelope is a fairy tale, but not the complete, stereotypical tale. There is a curse: Penelope, being the first born Wilhern girl since the curse was said, has a pig’s nose and ears. She will not gain human features for those until one of her own kind/blood, a blue blood, accepts her for who and what she already is and looks like.
Her mother (Catherine O’Hara) is trying to get a blue blood to marry her and break the curse; she enlists the help of a matchmaking service. But after many runaways, Penelope decided to run away after she thinks she found her last chance with Max (James McAvoy). Penelope, once out in the world, becomes friends with Annie (Reese Witherspoon). For once she leads and controls her own life. But, of course, there is still the curse and villain(s), a reporter and a blue blood, chasing her to put her on the front pages for different reasons.
The public ends up loving the pig-nosed girl, but does she ever meet Max again and does she get rid of the curse?
Funny, witty, and entertaining; something for the entire family, which they will totally enjoy! This pig-nosed Penelope captures the interest and hearts of anyone and everyone watching. Difficult not to like!
