Mister Lonely

A Michael Jackson impersonator gets invited by a Marilyn Monroe impersonator to live in her commune, which is comprised entirely or celebrity impersonators.

A Michael Jackson impersonator working in France meets a Marilyn Monroe impersonator. She invites him to come to Scotland to live in a commune which is comprised solely of other celebrity impersonators. Marilyn is married to a Charlie Chaplin impersonator and they have a daughter who impersonates Shirley Temple. The commune also provides a home for the Three Stooges, James Dean, the Queen, the Pope, Madonna, Abe Lincoln, Sammy Davis, Jr. and many more.

The story takes a predictable turn as Michael gets caught in a small love triangle with Marilyn and Charlie, with bad results.

Intertwined within this movie is the story of a group of nuns who believe they have are truly chosen by God when one of the nuns falls out of a plane and survives. In an act of faith, the rest of the convent also start jumping out of planes to prove their devotion to God and also survive, prompting a visit to see the real Pope.

A great concept for a movie, however, the lack of narrative in the story too soon leaves the watcher bored and the correlation between the commune and the convent are never explained. In fact, it seems there were two movies filmed and put together as one.

If you are looking for a movie filled with good celebrity impersonations, then this isn't it. But there are a few moments that will surprise and entertain, but sadly too few to make this fair movie really good.
