The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2
Usually, the second of any movie never measures up to the first, but I do not think this applies for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2. The young-adult version of Sex and the City follows four young girls that all "magically" fit into the same pair of jeans. Each of the girls takes turns wearing the jeans and after two weeks mails them to the next girl in line.
The four best friends find themselves moving in different directions after their first year of college. It turns out they all have plans during the summer which prevents them from spending time with one another. This means only one thing; the pants will have to travel once again.
Lena (Alexis Bledel) is taking drawing classes at the Rhode Island School of Design where she finds a new love interest to keep her mind off of her Greek love, Kostos (Michael Rady). Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) is taking summer classes at NYU while struggling with adult issues with her boyfriend, Brian (Leonardo Nam). Soccer player Bridget (Blake Lively) from Brown University goes on an archeological dig in Turkey. Carmen (America Ferrera) was looking forward to summer break and spending time with her three best gal pals (and becoming a new big sister) but instead works at a Vermont theater festival.
I would recommend that you see the first Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie before moving on to the second. It would make it easier for you to understand who the characters are, since you will already be emotionally involved. Even though I have not read Ann Brashares's novels, I enjoyed the movies as well as the characters. Young girls will appreciate the actresses that play each role as well as the bond between the friends.
