Club Dread

This is a comedy, which is loosely based on an Agatha Christie novel.

Club Dread is a film, following in the footsteps of the Agatha Christie novel, And Then There Were None. The film was made by the Broken Lizard comedy troupe.

In the movie, Coconut Pete (played by Bill Paxton) is a washed up rock star who throws a never-ending party on his private island. Dead bodies begin to be discovered, and the employees try to solve the murder mystery without any of the guests learning of the murders. The staff also have to avoid being murdered, as the killer must be one of their own.

The highlight of this movie was the acting of Jay Chandrasekhar, who played the role of Putman. Putman, the English tennis instructor, was full of witty dialogue, and had great chemistry with the other characters. Putman was a perfect foil to Lars (Kevin Heffernan).

One thing that I didn't like about this film was its use of songs, which were pretty close to songs written by Jimmy Buffett. It made me feel like I could just throw on a slasher movie and a Buffett CD and get the same effect.

If you're looking for a good laugh with a little bit of mystery, make sure you see Club Dread.
