Home Movie

This film focuses on a family's fight to rid their children of evil.

Home Movie is a chilling horror film about a family who records much of their lives on home movies.

The movie chronicled one family's descent into shadows through collection of the Poe family's homemade videotapes. In the secluded woods of upstate New York, David ( played by Adrian Pasdar) and Clare (Cady McClain) Poe are trying to live a peaceful life. However, the Poes' twin children are hiding a dark secret and something is off about 10-year-old Jack (Austin Williams) and Emily (Amber Joy Williams) Poe. To fix them, their parents must go into the nightmare of their children's minds. As they try to regain power of the children's lives, the burning question becomes who will finally endure the conflict.

The high point of this movie was the story line. It was very well written and not the least bit predictable. The suspense of the film was written perfectly. I spent some moments with bated breath wondering where the next shock was going to come from.

The cinematography of this film annoyed me a bit. I understand the point of the film was to tell the story through home movies, but shooting the entire film as if it were a home movie was simply a little bit much for me.

If you're looking for a good horror film with a plot that hasn't been played out, Home Movie is an excellent choice.
