Death of a President
This film speculates on what would happen if George W. Bush was assassinated.
“Death of a President” is a fictional documentary asking the question of what if former President George W. Bush was assassinated.
The film centers on the fictional assassination of U.S. President George W. Bush on Oct. 19, 2007, in Chicago. The news networks report how a sniper fatally wounded the president after giving a speech on the economy at the Chicago Sheraton Hotel before which, an anti-war protest rally was occurring. A man of Syrian origin, Jamal Abu Zikri, is named the prime suspect. As then Vice President Dick Cheney is sworn in as president, the whole world holds its breath, wondering what will happen next.
My favorite part of this film was how there were many interviews with fictional experts, detailing exactly what was happening. It made some things much easier to understand. It also made the theoretical situations being described in the film, much more accurate.
The fact that this film was made to profit off of the potential death of a world leader was morally questionable to me. While I found the film informative, I didn’t think it was really right to be speculating about someone killing the president.
While the film was informative, I wouldn’t really recommend it to anyone unless they wanted to learn more about our government’s reaction to an assassination.
