Angels & Demons

Ron Howard does a beautiful job creating the most captivating mystery movie of the year.

“Angels & Demons” definitely deserves its title as number four in the top box office. Director Ron Howard does a phenomenal job in making this movie a mind blowing mystery drama. Tom Hanks plays as Robert Langdon, a United States symbologist professor. He is tracked down by the Catholic Church for his expertise in decoding symbols. The Church is threatened by an ancient enemy and its last hope in solving the mystery of the ancient codes. The Church’s very survival lies in the hands of Professor Langdon.

“Angels & Demons” was actually written before the novel, “The Da Vinci Code,” by Dan Brown; however, it is set after the events that take place in “The Da Vinci Code.” Ron Howard does a perfect job in keeping the audience on its toes as every clue leads closer to the true identity of the enemy. It is truly a captivating film that keeps the views thinking to the very end.

Howard is able to draw the attention of the audience with little effort as the sequence of events begins to unravel the mystery. The film is action packed and full of suspense which really sets the standards for future mystery and drama films to come out this year. Perhaps the most amazing aspect of the film is how it is able to catch the interest of all audiences, even those whom are not religious.

“Chicago Sun-Times” says, “This kind of film requires us to be very forgiving, and if we are, it promises to entertain. ‘Angels & Demons’ succeeds.”
