The Proposal
A romantic comedy about the "boss from hell" proposing to her assistant.
“The Proposal,” starring Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, is based on Margaret Tate (Bullock), an executive editor of a book publishing company, who forces her assistant to marry her after she learns she is being deported back to her home country of Canada. Andrew Paxton (Reynolds) decides to accept under one condition; he is promoted to the position of editor and his manuscript is published.
While the film is funny from start to finish, it really picks up after the government is suspicious of their marriage and they are forced to spend the weekend at Andrew’s family’s home in Alaska. Over the course of the weekend, they start to fall in love as they genuinely get to know each other.
Bullock and Reynolds make an excellent pair and their chemistry is undeniable, not to mention they are both extremely beautiful people. While the movie is very predictable and a little unrealistic, it still has you laughing the entire time and leaving the theatre with nothing but a giant grin on your face.
“The Proposal” is now playing in theaters.
