Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs

After two brilliant hits, the “Ice Age” series continues strong with its third film, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs.” Much like the first two, this film brought back the characters and jokes that we love in a refreshing new story line. A problem many sequels face is that one’s understanding of the second film generally hinges on watching the first. However, this film stands beautifully on its own.

Directed by Carlos Saldanha and Mike Thurmeier, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” tells the story of Manny the mammoth and his friends. Manny and Ellie have gotten together and are now expecting a baby. Manny, like any first-time dad, is nervous about making sure everything is set for when his baby is born. Diego begins to believe that he is becoming too easygoing. And while Scrat still searches for his adored acorn, he falls in love with a female squirrel named Scratte. However, the bulk of the story lies with Sid and his desire to start a family of his own. In pursuing this wish, he decides to steal some dinosaur eggs. On this journey, Sid ends up in an unusual world where only his friends have to go on an adventure in order to rescue him.

This film stars Ray Romano as Manny, John Leguizamo as Sid, Denis Leary as Diego, Queen Latifah as Ellie, and Simon Pegg as Buck. Karen Disher as Scratte, Josh Peck as Eddie, Sean William Scott as Crash, and Chris Wedge as Scrat are also featured throughout the film.

If you’re looking for a film to truly have fun, “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” is for you. In a terrific blend of great animation, witty dialogue, an exciting script, and an outstanding cast, this film is a must-see for children and adults of all ages.

The writers, directors, actors, and animators of this film are always able to reinvent and create an entertaining and hilarious script that will have you laughing from start to finish. “Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs” is the perfect addition to the series.
