Just Friends
A romantic comedy about trying to become more than “just friends.”
The 2005 romantic comedy, “Just Friends,” starring Ryan Reynolds and Amy Smart, is about a high school friendship that evolves into a romantic one 10 years later. The movie starts off with Chris Brander (Reynolds) as an overweight nerd on his graduation night confessing his love to long time best friend, Jamie Palamino (Smart).
After being made fun of for doing so, Chris is not seen until ten years later when he is thin, handsome and a well-off businessman living in Los Angeles, Calif. Yet, when he travels back to New Jersey with a client, played by Anna Faris, he bumps into Jamie and falls right back in love with her - yet still playing the “friend” card.
With Reynolds's funny facial expressions and quirky ways, he does a great job portraying Chris Brander. Also, the unexpected role by Anna Faris has viewers laughing the second she comes on screen. “Just Friends” is one of those movies that is so extravagant that although it may seem ridiculous it is still a good comedy.
“Just Friends” is a perfect flick to watch with friends, family or significant others.
