A Walk to Remember

A movie review

“A Walk to Remember” was one of my favorite movies from back in middle school. The 2002 movie starred Mandy Moore and Shane West. The movie is based on the book that has the same title, by Nicholas Sparks. The main difference between the movie and the book was the setting. The book was set in the '50s while the movie takes place in the time it was made. The movie is about the love story between an unlikely pair. Mandy Moore plays a preacher’s daughter named Jamie Sullivan who is what most would consider a bookworm. She ends up starring in a school play alongside Landon Carter, who is forced to perform in the school production as a part of his probation. Eventually the two end up falling in love with each other. Landon also finds out that Jamie has a life threatening disease that will take her life.

This movie really caught my heart. Everything about it was well put together. The best part of the movie is when Landon decides to make all of her wishes come true before she dies. If only there were people like that in real life, then every woman would be happy. The soundtrack for the movie was also really great which includes the song, “Only Hope,” that Jamie sings for the school play. I haven’t seen this movie in such a long time but it still seems to give me that same feeling when I just even think about it.
