300

A Spartan King fights against the entire Persian army in a retold story of the Battle of Thermopylae.

"300" is an action-packed film that is an adaptation of a graphic novel by Frank Miller. Directed by Zack Snyder, the film retells the story of the Battle of Thermopylae. The Spartan King named Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and his small army of 300 Spartan fighters face off in combat against the Persian King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro).

Leonidas is completely outnumbered by the Persian army, which consists of one million soldiers. The story is narrated by a Spartan soldier named Dilios (David Wenham), who tells the story to the Spartan army that is about to fight the Persians after the first 300 were killed. The film starts with the story of Leonidas as a boy and how he grew up to become the warrior king. Shortly after he is crowned king, the Persian messengers come to Sparta and speak with Leonidas and tell him to surrender to the Persian king. Leonidas decides to send Xerxes his final answer by killing his messengers and marching off to fight his army on the terrain of Thermopylae. He plans to defeat the Persian army by drawing them into the narrow pass where their numbers will be limited and the Spartans can win the battle with their superb fighting skills. However, his army is limited and no reinforcements will arrive because Xerxes has a councilman secretly working for him to keep the council opposing Leonidas' orders to fight against the Persians.

This movie is a fantastic action film that has a wonderful and complete story.
