My Blue Heaven

Director Herbert Ross' "My Blue Heaven" redefines quirky. The story itself is funny, but comedians Steve Martin and Rick Moranis make this film into an explosively witty and clever movie. Ross has taken a great screenplay and terrific actors and mixed them together to create a masterpiece.

"My Blue Heaven" revolves around a man named Vinnie who is about to be put on trial to come clean about a few Mafia members. However, in spilling the beans, Vinnie must be assured that he will be protected from these dangerous hit men. Barney Coopersmith is therefore assigned to watch over Vinnie to ensure that he will not be arrested or questioned. While this seems like an easy task at hand, Vinnie makes it difficult because he is constantly finding trouble with the D.A., who is trying her hardest to get Vinnie arrested. Vinnie also suggests that Barney and the D.A. start a romantic relationship and while opposed to the idea at first, the two do have an undeniable spark.

This film stars Steve Martin as Vincent "Vinnie" Antonelli, Rick Moranis as Barney Coopersmith, Joan Cusack as D.A. Hannah Stubbs, Melanie Mayron as Crystal Rybak, Bill Irwin as Kirby, Carol Kane as Shaldeen and William Hickey as Billy Sparrow. Also featured throughout the film are Deborah Rush, Daniel Stern, Jesse Bradford, Corey Carrier and Seth Jaffe.

The Martin and Moranis dynamic duo lights up the screen in this brilliantly hilarious film. The two have a strong chemistry that is bound to make you laugh. Unlike any other film that Steve Martin has appeared in, he plays an Italian mobster, which is quite amusing to watch itself.

"My Blue Heaven" is a silly, funny comedy that you will enjoy so much that you might find yourself watching it over and over again.
