White Chicks

A movie review

The Wayans Brothers were at it again! I personally think that the family is full of comedy genius. I never thought it would be possible to have one household filled with so much talent. This includes their sister and several nieces and nephews. It is no surprise that the movie, "White Chicks," grabbed the attention of many people who would not normally be into a film with men dressing as women. "White Chicks" was released in 2004 and starred Shawn and Marlon Wayans. The movie was directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans and written by all three brothers. Before the movie even began, I was excited to see what comedy the brothers developed this time. I was not disappointed. Shawn and Marlon play two FBI agents by the name of Kevin and Marcus Copeland. Because of their sloppy work in a case, they were given the chance to redeem themselves as they are given the task of protecting two heiresses. The men are forced to go undercover as the women in order to keep up with a public appearance. This opens the door for more drama than the two men knew they would be getting into. In the process of pretending to be these women, they find out that there is a lot of criminal activity going on.

This movie was a great adventure. It was great to watch just because the jokes that were being told were not predictable. The best part of the movie had to be with Terry Crews, who played Latrell Spencer, a black man who had a bit of an obsession with white women. There is a scene in the car where he begins to sing the Vanessa Carlton song, "A Thousand Miles." I don't think there is anyone who could watch this movie and keep a straight face at that part. It was the best!
