Capitalism: A Love Story
Michael Moore has done it again. Labeled by some as one of the most dangerous filmmakers of our time because of his tendency to expose the truth through humor and outrage, Michael Moore's newest film, "Capitalism: A Love Story" doesn't stray too far from his others. Using the stock market crash as its backdrop, this documentary exposes the evil of a capitalist system in America throughout the 20th century. It is both a thought provoking and entertaining historical account of the impact of corporate dominance on Americans.
This film traces Middle America, the dominant figures in Washington, the global financial epicenter in Manhattan, and other territories around the country to display his indignation with capitalism and everything the system promotes. Moore attempts to answer the question that most wouldn't attempt to even ask...what are the consequences America has to face for its obsession with capitalism? He answers this question by showing personal accounts of various families who are being kicked out of their homes and jobs.
However, not everything in this film is negative. Moore never fails to give a glimpse into what a more hopeful future would look like.
Aside from Michael Moore, this film stars William Black, Jimmy Carter, Congressman Elijah Cummings, Baron Hill, Marcy Kaptur, John McCain, Sarah Palin, Ronald Reagan, Franklin Roosevelt, and Arnold Schwarzenegger all as themselves.
This documentary will simultaneously make you laugh, instill fear in you, make you angry. It is one of Moore's most loud, angry, heartfelt films. All-in-all, "Capitalism: A Love Story" is a masterpiece.
