Lucky 7
When the time line ends, where does real life begin?
When ABC Family ran the movie previews for Lucky 7 I knew right away that my
TV was going to be warmed up, and my VCR ready to tape. I just had to wait
until it came on, and when it did I was giddy with delight! For me, this was a
charming, romantic and perfect movie for a die hard fan of romantic love
stories. It guzzled over with cuties, and touched my heart all at the same
time.
When Amy( Kimberly Williams-Paisley) was just 7 years old her mom Rachel
(Gail O'Grady) was dying. She wanted to leave her daughter with something to
remember her by, and in a way, help her with some of her upcoming and
pivotal times as a young girl growing into a woman. Her mom created a
time line in which Amy would be able to see where she was headed in her life.
The time line included such things as when to go on an overnight camping trip,
when to have her first date, what to study for when entering college and
finally leading up to the most important goal in her life which would be
finding her soul mate. And that is going to be the biggest challenge to face
Amy for her true love is lucky number 7 on her mom's time line. But what happens
when Amy falls for her number 6 instead?
The only problem with the time line is that Amy never realized it was just a
special way for her to keep close to her mom and something not to be taken
so literally.
Amy has met Daniel (Brad Rowe) a meticulous and handsome individual who is
organized, professional, dedicated and the perfect match for Amy. Only
problem is he would be number 6 on her time line. Before Amy gets in too deep
with Daniel she must find a way to not have him be number 6 and turn him
into number 7. So what does Amy do?
Amy tells Daniel (begrudgingly) that she is not ready for a relationship. Amy
enlists the help of her friends and tries her hand at a dating service in
order to find a number 6, end the relationship, and hook back up with Daniel
as her now lucky 7.
Those dates Amy went on didn't turn out well at all, so now Amy needs a new
plan and fast!
There is someone who can help Amy out with her problem and that man is
Peter( Patrick Dempsey), a sweet, very cute, funny and good natured guy who
is the manager of the bagel shop Amy has stopped off at every morning
for the last year. They have a genuine likeness towards each other and have
had bits of pleasant conversations while waiting for her coffee order. Peter
one day out of the blue asked Amy to go with him to a friend's wedding. Amy
decides to go to the wedding with Peter in hopes of making him number 6, so
when she gets back home she will be able to pick up on her time line with
Daniel who is going to be her lucky 7.
Now that the plan is in motion, Amy feels nothing can go wrong, and soon she
will be happily involved with Daniel.
But what will Amy do when she starts having feelings for Peter, but knows he
is number six and the time line her mom gave her is for falling in love with
number 7?
Amy will also have to face her time line after it ends. Where is she going to
go now that she has no set plan? Now Amy has to come to terms with how she
wants her life to be lived, by following her own rules and most importantly
her heart. But will those decisions come too late?
I found the performances to be absolutely enchanting. I am so smitten with
Patrick Dempsey and think he is just the Wow man, he really is that good!
The chemistry between Patrick and Kimberly was so classic and so sweet, that it
melts off the screen. Kimberly is just one of the most appealing actresses
around. She has this sparkle about her, like a Meg Ryan, Julia
Roberts and Reese Witherspoon all in one. All of whom, are full of grace, wit and talent.
If ABC Family runs the movie again in the near future, I recommend checking
out this romantic and very wonderful movie.
