Freddy Vs. Jason
Silly horror flick that brings the classic villians together in probably the most ridiculous finale in the genre's history.
More comedy than horror, Freddy Vs. Jason is the horror genre's gag-gift. It's more of a guilty pleasure than anything remotely "watchable" in conventional terms.
Freddy Krueger returns, but is able to scare the children of Elm Street thanks to a drug forcing everyone to forget him. This causes him to recruit Jason to jog their memories, which ultimately leads to an all out brawl between the two. But not before they terify some local teens, who must have never been informed that they didn't even stand a chance.
Lori (Monica Keena), our virginal heroine, takes it upon herself to take down our infamous baddies. Apparently she has blamed her father for the murder of her mother all these years, but she discovers that it was in fact Freddy who was the culprit.
The plot really is nicely put together, thought out--and entertaining. Sure, there's the normal amount of blood shed, dead bodies, and an over-abunance of nudity and sexual situations, but there's nothing less scary than a head being chopped off, only to reveal hoses spouting a red colored liquid trying to resemble blood. Besides visual comedy, the dialogue is also filled with cheesy one-liners. Nothing is better than watching these actors attempt to deliver their lines as if it's truly a matter of life and death. We all know it's death for most of them...and we wouldn't have it any other way.
So who reigns victorious in Freddy Vs. Jason? Come on. Just like Arnold, they'll be back.
