Charmed

A Witchy Sixth Season Begins!

On Sunday Night September 28, 2003, the Halliwell sisters were back as the WB Network cast a two hour spell, celebrating the magical sixth season premiere of Charmed. Those bewitching sisters Phoebe ( Alyssa Milano), Piper ( Holly Marie Combs), and Paige ( Rose McGowan) looked fresh and gorgeous. With a new season comes change, and Phoebe did just that, with a very chic and short new hairstyle making her look like a red-hot vixen devil in disguise. She certainly knows how to make an entrance!

The theme of the story is Valhalley of the Dolls, Parts 1 & 2 (I don't know about you, but I love it when there are extra long shows, especially when you can watch them back to back!) The Valhalleys are a race of woman warriors in search of dying soldiers, who have proven themselves worthy on the battleground. The Valhalleys bring the soldier's soul back to the island and train them for the final impending battle of good vs. evil.

The story focuses on Leo's ( Brian Krause) disappearance but Piper appears to have no concern over the seriousness of it. Truth is, she's bubbling over with perkiness, so much that Phoebe and Paige are suspicious that a spell has been put on her to forget her sorrows. Paige creates a spell to help Piper realize her pain, but it backfires and erases her memory.

The second person is Chris ( Drew Fuller) the new whitelighter, the one who banished Leo on the island and has a love interest in one of the Valhalla warriors.

Eventually Chris, to cover his tracks, helps the sisters orb to the island to save Leo. The sisters also enlist the help of their good friend and witch protecting cop Darrel ( Dorian Gregory).

All does not sit well on the island, especially when Piper's emotions wear heavy on her heart once she sees Leo and remembers the pain he caused by abandoning her and baby Wyatt to become an Elder.

Another problem facing the sisters is Piper's decision to stay on the island, and a few of the soldiers who have followed the charmed ones back home, now causing mayhem amid the city.

Phoebe also has gained a new power, one which has her very emotional, and Paige's new job which she thought was going to the dogs, ends up being quite the hunky happy ending for her after all.

Charmed is not just about the beautiful actresses and their sizzling outfits. What makes the show so hot and fun, are the story lines themselves as the main ingredient, making it all the more delectable to watch. But underneath it all are the messages within the stories, about self discovery, learning through mistakes, trying new things and not being afraid to face the obstacles of life in general. The show's roots are planted in family, love, and all the basics that come with them.

Charmed is very cool, in the music added to the show, and Sunday's featured performer was Smash Mouth singing "You Are My Number One." Guest appearances also spice up the show and Sunday's guest was Evan Marriott, in a hairy situation and in desperate need of some magical assistance.

I throughly enjoy this show and have since it first aired. I will continue to follow in its magical path with the hope that many more seasons will enchant my appetite, and charm me even more.
