Scooby Doo

Warner Brothers Pictures presents a full-length feature based on the children’s animated cartoon. Written by James Gunn. Directed by Raja Gosnell. Run time is 86 minutes and rated PG for rude humor and language.

Well, let’s get real. If you are going to see this movie with the expectation of an academy award winning performance, you might as well stay home and watch the television show. But, if you like fun movies and have children then I would recommend Scooby Doo.

The acting is about as bland as can be, aside from the Shaggy character played by Matthew Lillard. His performance as Shaggy, along with the computer generated Scooby was worth going to see this movie.

The two food-munching, knee-shivering mystery sleuths find themselves along with the rest of their crew on a remote island aptly named "Spooky Island". The amusement park slash resort has been turning its normally crazy and inebriated visitors into zombified and hostile brainwashees. The gang has been invited to get to the bottom of the problem.

The film is filled with well-created CGI monsters and plenty of Scooby Doo and Shaggy, which in my opinion is the only real reason to even think about paying to see it. Well, that and the fact that when you have children, you have to sit through these types of films from time to time.

All in all, the youngster-filled audience was very pleased with this movie, so if you have children and would like to take them to a movie, this one won’t kill you.
