Shrek

If you still believe, "Beauty is only skin deep," then you obviously haven't met Shrek yet.

This lovable big green ogre with a heart of gold (voice of Mike Myers) is trying his darndest to be mean and intimidating, but it just isn't working.

After the evil Lord Farquaad (voice of John Lithgow) banishes all fairy tale critters and heroes to Shrek's home in the swamp, the wannabe scary ogre is forced to go and rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona (voice by Cameron Diaz) to get rid of the intruders.

The only glitch is Shrek cannot get rid of a pesky and hilarious Donkey (voice of Eddie Murphy) who wants to tag along for the ride. The unlikely duo travels to the castle to rescue the princess, who believes her true love will save her.

Like most women, she was expecting Prince Charming, and a bizarre green replacement showed up instead. Can Princess Fiona fall in love with a green ogre, or more importantly, can Shrek see the beauty in himself underneath his rough exterior?

In an attempt to rewrite the so-called "Prince Charming" myth in most fairy tales, Shrek shows us beauty is much deeper than just the skin's surface. With a great soundtrack, including a version of "I'm a Believer" by Smash Mouth and witty dialogue, Shrek is a wonderful story for anyone who believes in happy endings.
