Eye, The
The opening of "The Eye" tells you to sit tight, which is exactly what you should do.
The Eye is a thrilling movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat, hiding from what may come next. Directed by the Pang Brothers, the movie is in Cantonese and Thai with English subtitles.
At first, it may seem relatively hard to be scared when you have to read subtitles, but the visuals and the sound throughout the film make your heart beat a little faster. After a little while, you completely forget about the subtitles and begin to deeply experience this horror film.
The music of the movie is the main controlling factor. Throughout the entire film, the piano in the background stirs your emotions and acts as a signal for when you should begin holding on to your seat.
The main character, Mun, is a young lady who is blind. In the very beginning of the film she goes through an operation that allows her to see again, after living with the disability for almost her entire life.
While Mun thinks that her new eye sight may be playing tricks with her mind, she cannot stop the dreadful images from changing her life.
These images take over her world and are so intense that they will take affect the audience. Mun is terrified of what she is seeing and as the viewer, you will also be terrified.
The special effects in this movie may not be up to speed with more current films, but the suspense will keep you tuned in. With every beat of the music, you will want to know what is going through Mun's mind.
While you may or may not know what is real and what is just in the character’s head, it is still fun to watch, if you have the stomach for suspense.
