Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends - Snowy Surprise
Another Thomas the Tank Engine adventure that's fun for the whole family.
When my 2-and-a half-year-old son heard that I had a Thomas DVD for him, he shrieked with joy. My nearly-seven-year-old daughter's response was, "boring". While she and Mommy read a book, my son and I sat down to watch. The stories included in this DVD both thrilled and enchanted my son. Done in the traditional Thomas style, these stories were about helping neighbors and caring for others.
In addition to the movie, this disc comes with bonus features that kept both of my children occupied. We decorated a Christmas tree, played "Match the Snowflakes," and sang along to a "Winter Wonderland" song. What I found to be the most fun was watching both of my children work together to play the games. Amanda wanted to watch all of the stories, even though she initially said that they would be boring. As we watched, my son was very excited to tell Amanda about the stories as they were played. Again, watching the kids together was my enjoyment.
The DVD includes six shorts that revolve around snow. As we watched, I saw my children's eyes light up while the residents of the Island of Sodor helped each other as the snow descended upon them. As usual, Thomas and his friends play a crucial role in keeping the island on the right track (pun intended).
All in all, it was an excellent compilation for the entire family to enjoy.
