Tom Jones

A British playboy gets himself in tons of trouble while trying to score with the ladies.

Albert Finney plays Tom Jones, (no, not the singer) a man who grew up as the adopted son of a nobleman in England during the 1700s. He was left behind by his mother and never knew her identity. Perhaps this is why, when he is an adult, he chases every woman in town. He is a notorious playboy, sleeping around with high society ladies and wenches alike. Each conquest seems to get him into trouble - fights and brawls, paternity allegations and chaos. Despite this casanova behavior, Tom soon realizes that his heart belongs to just one person, Sophie Western (played by Susannah York). She is beautiful, gentle and very much a lady. Tom puts on his charms for her and she is soon smitten with him as well. The only thing that stands in the way of their happiness is his womanizing ways and a high-society man who wants to make her his wife.

Meanwhile, Tom's father, by this time, has become fed up with Tom's crazy ways and kicks him out of the house - and his life. Tom's craziness has also earned him a ticket to be hanged. Can Tom find a way to set his life straight and find happiness before it's too late? Will he ever know the truth about his birth? Will he die at the rope? Watch this winner of four Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and keep your fingers crossed!
